This is a landmark fjord hotel and impressive but for some of the older rooms. The rooms vary somewhat in size, but most are large. They also vary in style and age. Some are in very good condition, whilst some of the older ones could do with some refurbishment and look a bit old fashioned. Some twin rooms also feature unusual beds, one of which can be slid underneath the other if the room is to be used for single occupancy. All rooms are comfortable and though their styles vary they are all clean and comfortable. The elegant restaurant is spacious and enjoys fabulous views over the fjord. The actual reception desk is small, but adjoins a spacious conservatory with various lounges and seating areas looking out to the fjord. N.B : The hotel is no longer under the management of Rica Hotels.

This hotel could not be better located being right on the waterfront and the overall impression is favourable, but there is no doubt that some of the rooms are substandard for its category. The rooms vary considerably in size, style and quality. Some are very large whilst others are small, some are in really exceptional condition whilst others could undoubtedly benefit from renovation. Most do at least enjoy some of the finest fjord views in Norway and many have balconies or terraces. The restaurant is located upstairs from the lobby and has windows all along one wall looking out over the water. The lobby is small and friendly.

This is really a very basic hotel, but despite its lack of glamour it is an unpretentious and straightforward property and perfectly comfortable and clean. The rooms are small and basic. They are really only in fair condition with rather gloomy decor, but are nonetheless clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are also only in fair condition. The restauruant is rather old fashioned in appearance, but at least less bleak than the rooms. Windows the length of the room afford diners lovely views over the fjord. The lobby area is small but adjoins a lovely lounge and bar area. The hotel also has a small pub which is much frequented by the locals.
